Fahrenheit Fire Sale

IMG_0514

We’ve switched from Centigrade to Fahrenheit - whatever the temperature at checkout is the discount you get in percent. But in Fahrenheit. Yes, Fahrenheit. If it hits 38ºC (100ºF) we’re going to get sunburnt.

It’s dynamic in the store and still supplied by the Met Office, but if you follow us on Twitter, we’ll tweet a discount code for the day’s forecast <http://twitter.com/socialsuicide>.

Fashion Diktat

Churchills
Our stunning AW2009 Dictators of Fashion collection will be with us in a few weeks time. It’s all tailor made, pure wool, detail rich stuff as usual but based on dictators – hero’s and villains.

“… draws style and structural inspiration from a series of 20th Century military and political heroes, and a few tyrants. Malcolm X, Winston Churchill, JFK, Charles de Gaulle, Nelson Mandela, Chairman Mao, General Kalashnikov and Benito Mussolini. Eight characters, eight cuts, eight stories; all with incredible detailing, beautiful handwork, leather trims and delicate embroidery.

Evening wear in black or cream super fine super 120’s wool cashmere, trimmed and lined in silk and detailed with gold; and daywear in pure wool flannels, trimmed in leather. Every piece is hand made by tailors.”

‘Coz, Now They’re Here

WYWH-London

New York comes to London in our ongoing Pop-up exchange with the Lower East Side. A bunch of great brands will be setting up in the Newburgh Quarter, including:

Adrienne’s
By Robert James
Earnest Sewn
In God We Trust
Kaight
Reed Space
Shut Skateboards
Still Life
Wendy Mink Jewellery
Zarin Fabric Warehouse

The Wish You Were Here press release reads:

“Throughout the month of October, visitors to the Newburgh Quarter will be treated to a New York experience, including a slice of the Big Apple street market with bagels, pretzels and New York style specialties. Other events include a ‘guerrilla’ street fashion show, a shopping evening and a Halloween party which will celebrate the arguably quintessential American occasion – but of course with an edgy difference. Live street performances, in-shop entertainment and New Yorker style fancy dress. Fierce!”

More Master Shortie

shortie

Shortie’s up for a MOBO and he’s attending in an SS suit. I’ve seen it and it’s very damn dandy. Meanwhile, here he is wearing a SS Rocker and pointing at another man’s fingers.

Danny Rampling

José James

jose-james

What I like most about José (a New Yorker with a beautiful jazz voice signed to Brownswood Recordings), is that he sings about park benches. The park bench is much under appreciated and under acknowledged object that has a place close to my heart, and I like to see it sung about… Oh, and he’s wearing our Track Suit here and looks good. I like that about him too.

José James

Ben Westbeech

Ben-Westbeech

After his successful debut album “Welcome to the Best Years of Your Life” on Gilles Peterson’s, Brownswood Recordings, Ben is now on a global tour. Snapped here in our summer Hurricane.
