As an aside, Jason Allen (the London Editor) does an incredible job researching and composing content. Daily. Almost on his own. I followed Thrillist NY for a while, just out of interest but had no idea what a light weight team they run. So when Jason walked in the store and told me HE was starting up the London branch a while ago I was amazed.
I can’t see why Broadwick Street should be closed. It’s just a little pot-hole.

That’s what the brochure says – and beautifully written it is too. Ahem.
To be a little less cryptic though, the jackets are our usual fitted cut but with a heavily reduced amount of structure, an increased armhole and a great big lovely lapel; the materials are denims and cottons – navy blue, powder blue, cream and red; and the styles are plain, double piped and deck chair striped. They all have the same printed viscose gingham and polkadot linings that conceal chess and backgammon boards, sudoku, word search, tick-tack-toe and weiki. They pack into their own arms for travel and shoulder straps that double as score strips. They have a sunglass pocket that is lined with micofibre and closed with a magnet; a special holiday novel pocket; and a metal lined pocket that cuts your mobile’s reception for that “out of the office” feeling!
They’re beautiful and I’m really, really proud of them! We’d also like to thank Julia Kennedy, Mark McMahon and Stuart Jones for their respective photography, styling and modelling.

We’ll be doing the same but ALSO, we’re kicking off our summer of sporting fixtures with a little flutter for you: correctly guess the minute of the first goal in Saturday’s FA Cup Final and we’ll give you a full refund on anything you buy. (No returns!)
The Icelandic volcano has ashed on our suits – linings stuck in Italy, stuck in London, stuck in Singapore… Singapore? So, we are giving 20% discount on all pre-orders for the summer collection deliverable in 3-4 weeks. We won’t be running any other promotions this summer, so this is your chance.
All summer, every Sunday, we’ll be holding a guerilla game of something outside the shop: croquet, cricket, boule, badminton, golf, five-a-side, etc. Something in sympathy with the British sporting calendar. We’re going to commandeer the street, light the BBQ and kick off!
What’s more, The Shaston Arms, next door, will be sponsoring the events. They started opening on Sundays just a few weeks ago and will be providing some sort of something yet to be confirmed. Hopefully cheep booze, whatever!

Si and I met Kaspars, Artur and Angel when we did the Margin show in 2008 and were struck by their almost cartoon take on skinny Scando fashion. Two years later and I thought they might fancy a bit of a joint venture. So, not only are we stocking some of their truly excellent trousers in the store, we’re in discussion as to what we can do for Summer 2011. Trousers London
Simon and Tracy of Linda Farrow fame have it all stitched up – a fantastic product, well delivered. Again, we met at a trade show – Tranoi – years ago and have been friends ever since. Linda Farrow.
Come the end of June and it’ll be show time again. I spent yesterday morning with Brian Duffy – Stitch’s main man – and it sounds as though he’s got the show where it needs to be about a year early. Not only do they have some of the coolest most contemporary brands signed up (us for instance!) but he’s got a load of the big boys to come and play and the exhibitor count has passed 100. Also, they’re partnering with some very exciting and complimentary outfits. I do think it’s going to be one hell of a show.
The dates are 30th June to 1st July and it is once again at Old Billingsgate.
