Oh My It’s September…!

Conventional wisdom states that the best time to deliver marketing e-mail is first thing on a Tuesday morning – preferably 09:30. Well, I have all the wisdom of a mayfly, Social Suicide is hardly conventional and hopefully, you don’t consider this marketing. Besides, it’s not a day late, it’s a month late.

And what a month, where has the time gone? More to the point, where’s the shop gone? Where’s Social Suicide? And, to quote a couple of long suffering customers, “Where’s my bloody jacket?”!

Well, I decided that life was descending into shop-keeping Bedlam. Every moment of every day – shop, shop, shop. I was spending no time on design, on sales, on admin and my personal wardrobe was suffering badly. If there’s one thing worse than constantly under the cosh, it’s being constantly under-dressed. So, good riddance to retail.

In other news, we’ve opened a shop… 53 Monmouth Street, just off Seven Dials, Covent Garden – don’t ask. Oh, and rather importantly, we’re having a party this Friday. Read on.

The Shop – Fashion Week, Fashion Strong

53 Monmouth Street, London, WC2H 9DG

Partnering with Trousers London we’ve created a Pop up for Fashion Week and The London Design Festival. The premise is that the two weeks – fashion and design- cohabit on the London events calendar but seemingly ne’er the twain shall meet. Yet, in Social Suicide and Trousers London we have two fashion brands created by product designers and architects. A semi-ironic crossover and no better excuse for a party…!

Party

This Friday, 17th Sept, 19:00 onwards. At Fashion Week Fashion Strong, 53 Monmouth Street, London, WC2H 9DG. For guest list mail commit@socialsuicide.co.uk

We may have Pimms sponsorship, we may have Jeff Leach of Men in Masks, we may have Acid Malc of Daisy Daisy, we may have a riot. It’s all in the air.

Lost & Found – An Art Special

Would the charming Shyla Dopp please come and collect her geriatric photos as I’m beginning to worry for their welfare. And would the ‘orrible Jo Hunter of Vexed come and collect his Diana/Gatso Frankenstein creation as I’m concerned for my welfare.

And if that’s all a bit cryptic, here’s a gorgeous shot of Charlie, the Social Suicide van, taken by Greg Ash of Lomography.

Uniqlo

… have launched a marketing campaign suspiciously close to our General Public Dictates winter sale. I’m sure the cheque is in the post.
