I’m afraid to announce that I will be growing a moustache for the month of November – bad news for me, bad news for my wife, bad news for my friends, in fact bad news for almost anyone in visual proximity. But most of all, bad news for prostrate cancer.

The Movember Foundation, raises more money for prostate cancer than any other source outside of government simply by encouraging men to grow a sponsored moustache for the month of November. I’m not sure exactly how much (amusingly, their site seems to be blocked by the Indian service provider I’m using here in Goa, so it’s difficult to get the exact stats) but they raise a lot.

And, to help things along, not only are we donating our top lips but, Si and I have coughed up a suite of spotless white and gold Kalashnikov jackets for their launch parties. Although it seems that Hywel hasn’t quite got the hang of pressing his – see below.

Finally, if you could dig to the bottom of your pockets, ourselves and men’s internal bits worldwide would be very grateful if you could help raise some money by following this link

Right folks, it’s a “MAKE US AN OFFER” EPIC SALE, down at Social Suicide, here and now.

I’m finally clearing everything. So I want you – NEED YOU – to come in and take the stuff away. Try it, like it, make us an offer. And don’t leave it for a moment longer than you have to because you’ll just come in and look at a single rail of out-sized fluorescent jodhpurs and mickey mouse underwear and say “I should have come in earlier…”, and I’ll say “I know, I told you so”.

We also have the Summer Holidaze collection (as featured all over the website) on a very reasonable pre-order discount for another 2 weeks. Then it will be available no more.

Come, bring family, bring colleagues, bring friends – bring strangers and make friends, bring anyone! This morning I even fitted someone’s dog – no joke. But most of all, bring pockets and pockets full of spare change.

“Presenting the Holidaze collection: built for vacations and inspired by deck chairs. Reminiscent of childhood Kodachrome holidays of never ending summers, green grass, sandy beaches, lazy days, vanilla ice-cream and irrepressible irresponsibility. Lightweight, natural, breathable fibres; reds, blues, creams, frays, stripes and pipes; ginghams, checks, twills, dotts and detail, detail, detail. Jackets lined with chess, checker, word and number games; packed with pockets and filled with function; pack-away stuffable, treat ruffable and utterly loveable.”

That’s what the brochure says – and beautifully written it is too. Ahem.

To be a little less cryptic though, the jackets are our usual fitted cut but with a heavily reduced amount of structure, an increased armhole and a great big lovely lapel; the materials are denims and cottons – navy blue, powder blue, cream and red; and the styles are plain, double piped and deck chair striped. They all have the same printed viscose gingham and polkadot linings that conceal chess and backgammon boards, sudoku, word search, tick-tack-toe and weiki. They pack into their own arms for travel and shoulder straps that double as score strips. They have a sunglass pocket that is lined with micofibre and closed with a magnet; a special holiday novel pocket; and a metal lined pocket that cuts your mobile’s reception for that “out of the office” feeling!

They’re beautiful and I’m really, really proud of them! We’d also like to thank Julia Kennedy, Mark McMahon and Stuart Jones for their respective photography, styling and modelling.
